The countdown to Sweet Potato's time with us has begun. We are doing pretty well with it, so far. The hubs and I keep talking about our next step. We want to adopt. But don't know from where. We want to use a surrogate, but don't know how soon that will happen. I have been thinking about giving our agency 3 months to give us another foster to adopt child and if we aren't placed within that time we will reassess. But this is what I'm thinking. Our friend that offered to be our surrogate is still losing weight (to qualify) but I would still really love to adopt. I think we are going to go the domestic adoption route. When we were at the zoo I saw two different transracial families, so I stopped them (of course... I stop any family I think may be built through adoption/ fostering) and they both said they worked with the same local agency. I am going to call the agency soon to get more information. But a funny thing happened. When I was picking Honey up from school the other day, I saw one of the mothers from the zoo. I got her number so hopefully we will have a new friend soon.
My main concern with domestic adoption is that no one will pick us because we are overweight and already have 2 kids. We would be 100% open to anyone that chose us, but still. I feel like only pretty people with huge houses are chosen. If we got an interview I know they would choose us. I think the love we have for our girls is pretty undeniable, but it's just getting that interview. Not to mention the cost... oh the cost... why does this process cost so much?!
Well, here are the pictures from the zoo.

At this point my new friend joined us. This is her son K.

I would hope a family looking for a loving family for a child wouldn't judge someone like that! I hope you find out some good news soon
