Birth Certificates

Today I received my birth certificates. My heart stopped when the UPS guy came. This is the first thing we ordered for our adoption. It makes everything seem so real, so doable. I'm having a little anxiety about all of this. Not in a bad way. In an excited I can't believe it's finally time, sort of way. Tomorrow we should get M's and E's (I didn't order all of them on the same day). We filed our taxes so our refund will go towards our adoption. One little step closer. M is going to work more overtime. It will be hard to not spend as much time with him. He is the most amazing husband. I brought up that I could work nights somewhere and he didn't want that. He wants me to stay home with our daughter and he offered to work more. He already works overtime every week. We are so blessed to have such an amazing husband and father.

  1. Hi! Thanks for stopping by our blog! I didn't see any option to email you directly....we were told by AGCI that with a two bedroom house we could only adopt a girl - because they would be eventually sharing a bedroom. We pointed out that the law here in OR is that opposite gender siblings can share a room until they are 6 years old. They said "but kids do grow up you know". To which we responded "and people buy larger houses". It didn't seem to make a difference. And as disappointing as it was at the time, I would not trade our sweet Ethiopian Princess for anything! I think it may depend on who does your home study. We know another couple who adopted through AGCI and they have a two bedroom, a girl at home, and adopted a little boy. I would just not ask, and assume you can request either gender - just be flexible if it come up!

Feel free to email me too! titushome at gmail dot com.

I noticed in one of your posts you mentioned meeting 'M' and her daughter 'R' at an AGCI picnic - is that the 'M' of the jonesalwaysandforever blog?? If so, she is a good friend of mine and our daughters shared rooms at HH!!!

You have a beautiful family! Your daughter is absolutely adorable!

    Blessings!!

    Sarah
