Happy Easter

I can't get the pictures from the morning off of my one memory card. That always happens to me when I put too much on the card. But at least I have these.

Eyelets for the ladies

After church we went to my mom and dad's for an Easter egg hunt.  Since they are the only grandkids everyone was really into it. It was a blast.

Pumpkin was doing an AMAZING job finding the eggs.

My brothers, for some reason, hid the eggs thinking the girls are more advanced than they are.

Missing my oldest brother.
Obviously they are in their Sunday best.

They love putting all of that money in their piggy banks.

Pumpkin found both Golden eggs. Without hesitation, she gave the first one to Honey.

My mom said, "It was THE BEST Easter I've ever had!"
That was so wonderful to hear. We really did have a great day and never losing sight of why we celebrate.

The Farm

It's the time of year where we live outside and my favorite place to go is the farm.
It was like 90 outside and would have rather been in a pool, too bad it's only April and no place is open.

Holy cow! Does she look grown up or what?!

The funniest part of the day was when Pumpkin climbed into the basket part of the stroller.

We tried to feed the geese bits of french fries... they did not approve

A few days later we went back to meet a friend that has fostered/ adopted.

Her son is the most petite little nugget.

oh. I could eat him up.

THE Call, take 2

On April 3rd we got a call on our home phone meaning it was one of three people; another parent from Honey's class (I'm the room parent), my mom, or our social worker.  It was Ms P! I couldn't believe it. It was around 8 pm so I really wasn't expecting it to be her. She asked how I was. I answered with a linger wanting more information of why she was calling me. She went on to say that we were chosen. She gave me all of the information she was given but left a lot of her notes at work.  She said we were chosen because the birth mom could tell I was loud and the Hubs was quiet. That is the same with birth mom and dad. I'm trying not to get too excited. We still have a couple of months for her to change her mind. And the birth. Oh this is going to be hard. I am holding on to the fact that BM wanted us to know she chose us right away. Ms P got her to hold off until yesterday when she was supposed to have her dr's visit. The dr had to reschedule and BM wanted us to know regardless. Once we say yes to a child we are "off the market" to any other potential BP's. That sounds so strange to say. Like buying a house.  We don't know if our baby is a boy or girl. I feel like it's a girl. We are really excited. We are really cautious. We are really nervous.

I was trying to wait to tell anyone until after we met, but I am too excited

The twins

Remember the twins we watched when we had sweet potato? These boys  Well our foster agency just called me and asked if we would be willing to take them. It KILLED me to say no.  If they were further down in the adoption process I would have most likely said yes.  But they aren't.  They were the same age a S.P.  This is crushing.  I really really loved those boys. Unfortunately there is an unnecessarily long road for them to get to where we would like them to be p.c. wise. URGH....

A blog to follow

On one of the blogs I follow they shared a link to another adoption blog. I ask you to please visit their website WavyBel's Blog. My heart goes out to them. They went through the same heart ache we went through with Sweet Potato plus a year.  The biggest tragedy, Molly just lost her husband. I can't imagine losing The Hubs.  He is my world. I can't imagine not having a father for our daughters.  I can't imagine going through the adoption process and this happening.  For me, it's just like a pregnancy and your child is still out there.  Please pray for Molly and Harper.

Zoo trip

I run into Charlie more often than anyone else. We went to the zoo and she was there with her daughter Frankie. I love those ladies and it's always a fun surprise to run into them.

She obviously has loads of personality

Honey asks to see the peacocks at least once a week.
