Saturday morning Bear was acting cranky so I took his temperature. It was 101 rectally so I had the hubs run him to the hospital. I waited for my mom to come to my house so she could watch the girls until my MIL could come get them and take them to her house.
The day before, Friday, we were at the dr for a routine weight check. They were concerned he wasn't gaining weight in utero so they wanted to check his weight a week after his initial dr's visit.
He gained weight like a champ and was perfect. No temp. Nothing. Everything was perfect.
By the time I got there he was still in the emergency room and they were still taking blood, giving fluids, and taking tests.
I'm not going to lie. It was scary. We just left the hospital and here we were back again.
I stayed there the whole time and The Hubs was there except to sleep and let the dogs out.
There isn't a more awful feeling than when your child is sick and there is nothing you can do about it. They tested for everything that could have been passed through a vaginal birth, they tested for everything hereditary, they just tested for everything. We had to wait three days for all of the testing to come back and they determined it was just viral.
I am kicking myself for putting him through this. It was so stupid of me to have all of those people around him. Everyone was just so excited for us and we were so excited to show him off.
I have no idea how he got sick, but I am blaming the dr's office. Then I won't blame myself too much more and I won't blame my friends.
(I can't get these pictures to line up and I'm giving up)
After the three days my grandma, Nonna, offered to watch the girls for a night so we could get some rest. I missed them so much but I wanted rest more. Plus I knew they would LOVE to sleep at Nonna's since she would let them do whatever they wanted.
But we were so excited for them to come home.
Harold hears the car doors shut and their footsteps up the porch.
I had visions of them running into my arms and kissing me all over.
They did that to Harold.
They just said, "oh hi mom" to me.
But we are so lucky to be home and healthy.

that is so scary! I'm glad everyone is ok
